While Sony ignores the PlayStation Vita in the West with first-party developments, there are still games made for this platform. One of them is Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty, which has been available for the PS4 and the PS3 for quite some time. Thankfully, the handheld port comes with a friendly approach…
New ‘N’ Tasty comes with cross-buy: if we buy Oddworld Inhabitants‘ game on one platform, we’ll get it for the other two as well. According to the devs, the PS Vita version „offers all the same deep gameplay and amazing environments of the console versions. It’s a refined, specially adapted version of the game that plays to the strengths of the mobile format, while still delivering that ‘AAA indie’ level of polish our fans have come to expect.”
The PS4‘s old-school control scheme is the default. X makes Abe jump forward, the left stick moves him, talking is on the D-Pad (Up for Hello, Right for Follow Me), putting an item down is made by tapping the front touch pad, so the control seems easy to get used to.
The game is out today, and the price is 20 dollars – here’s the twist: if you picked up the game while it was a PS Plus free title, now you can download the PS Vita port free of charge! This is how you approach gamers.
