While Take-Two lost money during Q3, they weren’t in a terrible situation due to GTA leading the company forward. Grand Theft Auto V has reached none less than the amount of 60 million shipped copies! If we ignore the fact that Rockstar‘s game is available on five different platforms (PS4/X1/PC and PS3/X360), it’s still an amazing result nevertheless.
GTA Online wasn’t detailed, but the publisher stated that it received record revenue results during the holiday season. NBA 2K16 reached 6 million, and this is a 72% improvement over 15; the mobile version also performed significantly better with the 60% growth.
Take-Two is focusing on the next business year as Battleborn and Mafia III will both launch soon, making them important pillars of the publisher’s plan. The latter game was already listed by Gamestop for an April release, but T2 did not confirm this. There’s also new IP and unannounced games in the works, too.
So while Take-Two didn’t finish in the green due to business reorganization charges, they are looking forward to the next year positively.
