Treat this with a grain of salt, but it seems like Rockstar works on the sequel to Red Dead Redemption. This western game launched in 2010 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. However, the second installment is mentioned by none other than the CEO of Take-Two Interactive‘s CEO, Strauss Zelnick. RDR 2 would be announced at E3, and the game would be out by October on PS4 and Xbox One, followed by a slow evolution of making Red Dead Redemption into a permanent franchise.
There have been rumors about the sequel’s location being either Japan or the East Coast. The map (probably still being in the United States) would be obviously a lot bigger than the first game’s area. Rockstar did not comment.
There’s also been a mishap with the first game over the course of the weekend. Xbox One‘s backward compatibility was expanded by the first Red Dead Redemption game. Reports say that it worked with installing the game from the disc and taking the console offline. However, according to Major Nelson, it was „a mistake on Microsoft’s end” and the game disappeared. Let’s hope the sequel won’t get similar antics.
