We have our two cents to throw into this PS Vita-debacle. There’s nothing better when you can experience what functions work (or in several cases, doesn’t work) since the installation of the 3.57 firmware on our PlayStation Vita handheld.
We weren’t able to access the PlayStation Store until Sony fixed „a network issue”. We have no idea what this particular issue means as the Japanese company’s PR-strategy isn’t exactly focused on communication recently. The battery is also an apparent problem that Sony hasn’t addressed yet since this firmware arrived.
There’s something else that we haven’t seen in several reports. Connect Manager doesn’t work at all; this is the most annoying issue since the „update”. This would be necessary as two applications use it (the default movie app and Network Media Player). We’re not able to watch movies or listen to mp3s – these never were troublesome before the 3.57 firmware. Also, we have two routers in our network, and Connect Manager cannot connect to either of these. Our PC is only recognized via USB. This connection is useless as we can’t stream movies with it. For movie streaming, wireless is essential.
Sony managed to create their unique Gordian Knot…
