Yves Guillemot: Vivendi = catastrophy!

Ubisoft‘s CEO, Yves Guillemot doesn’t have a good opinion about Vivendi‘s approach towards his company. Vivendi started to buy themselves into both Ubisoft and Gameloft. Because of this, it’s no surprise that Ubi doesn’t have fully positive thoughts about 2016.

Don’t forget that there isn’t going to be a new, main Assassin’s Creed installment this year and its place is going to be taken by Watch Dogs 2 (due to launch by April 2017). This is Guillemot’s problem: he believes that Vivendi would kill the creativity of his studios, and Vincent Bolloré’s money (he’s the boss of Vivendi) isn’t necessary to keep Ubisoft afloat either.

After all this, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Guillemot get the boot the moment he loses his majority within Ubisoft when Vivendi creates another gigacompany like Activision Blizzard. (It’s bound to happen, isn’t it?)

It’s rare to hear someone high in the rankings to talk in a style like this, so credit where due, Yves Guillemot has a sharp opinion.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
