J.J. Abrams, who previously ended up with a box office success with Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, is already working on something else behind the scenes. But wait… Valve? Maybe some of you do not remember the events of the DICE Summit back in 2013.
Three years ago, Valve-boss Gabe Newell and JJ Abrams announced that they are going to team up for both a Half-Life and a Portal movie. Since then, Abrams finished Star Wars VII as well as 10 Cloverfield Lane. IGN contacted him about the latter movie and obviously, Abrams got a few questions about the Valve-collaboration. He answered.
Abrams says that he can’t talk about details and there’s nothing special to talk about, but there are writers working on the script for both movies. Therefore, he admitted that the Valve movies aren’t dead, they are just in pre-production.
However, we would like to know what Abrams and Newell would do together for a game – they have plans to make more than a movie, mind you. Wouldn’t it be a shocker to see Half-Life 3 released on the same day as the Gordon Freeman-movie?
…wait. What if this is their plan all along?
