We have known about that Telltale is going to make a Batman game for a few months already. However, no other details were mentioned during TGA in December – at SXSW, Telltale started to talk about the new project, though.
While they still haven’t shown any images or gameplay, Telltale confirmed that Batman: A Telltale Game Series will launch this summer. We’ll be able to control both Batman and Bruce Wayne, plus we’ll be able to choose between the two at our will. However, Telltale’s CEO, Kevin Bruner pointed out that eventually you must take control of the other character (or more like personality?).
The story will be entirely new, so don’t expect a rework of anything previous. Alfred Pennyworth, Vickie Vale, Jim Gordon and Renee Montoya will all show up, although the villains (yes, there will be more than one!) haven’t been named yet. Telltale shouldn’t skip Joker…
Batman will get five episodes, and his game will run on a brand new engine (perhaps this is Telltale’s test before the third season of The Walking Dead?). The visuals will be comic book-styled, taking inspiration from Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, and Neal Adams.
