SPOTIFY NEWS – U2 will be presented with the 2016 iHeartRadio Innovator Award at Sunday’s third annual iHeartRadio Music Awards show. The honor comes as tribute to the iconic rock band’s impact on popular culture across the world and contributions to the music industry and social causes.
The group, comprised of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr, are celebrating 40 years together this year. U2 has also supported numerous charities and causes, including the ONE organisation and the (RED) brand campaign, both co-founded by Bono. This year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards will be hosted by Jason Derulo and will feature performances from Meghan Trainor, Zayn Malik, Chris Brown, Fetty Wap, Demi Lovato and more.
In other U2 news, the band has begun work on its next record. Edge was in a Los Angeles studio in late March, where he was embarking on the beginning stages of the album.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards will air live on TBS, TNT and truTV at 8 p.m. ET on the 3rd of April.
