1666 Amsterdam – This Is How The Game Changed! [VIDEO]

This occasion is the first time that we can see 1666 Amsterdam in video format. The game has been the centre of a lawsuit between its creator Patrice Désilets and Ubisoft. However, they finally managed to strike a deal, which ended with Désilets getting back the IP, allowing him to do whatever he wants with his project.

Unsurprisingly, Désilets’ game looks a lot like Assassin’s Creed. No wonder – he was one of the main creators behind that franchise a decade ago at Ubisoft before he left to join THQ. Amsterdam looks brilliantly dark, as well as mystic and dirty. There’s also some black magic used in the video, which – for some reason – reminds us of Dishonored. Is this where Arkane Studios have taken ideas from?

What will Désilets do with his game? The build we see is from two years ago. Will Electronic Arts or Activision pick his plans up? We’ll see that in a year or so – it would be a shame if his game ends up in the trash bin.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
