We can say that the new Lara Croft‘s childhood dream has come true!
Alicia Vikander, who was announced as the new Lara Croft at the end of April, has admitted that despite her parents not allowing it, she has played Tomb Raider as a kid. She also said that she didn’t have many friends that shared her interest.
It’s rare to see actors knowing about their roles when it comes to movie adaptations of video games. Michael Fassbender hasn’t played any of the Assassin’s Creed games despite him being the star in the film adaptation that launches at the end of December. Travis Fimmel, one of the lead in the new Warcraft movie, also had no idea what Warcraft was when he signed his contract.
At least Vikander can improve her acting by maybe even including some of her childhood memories. We don’t know when the new Croft–film arrives exactly, but let’s face it, since 2003, the last Tomb Raider-movie, a lot of time has passed.
