Blizzard‘s one of the key people, Jay Wilson, decided to hang up his helmet and leave the game industry behind altogether.
As Wilson wrote on his Twitter, „Sad to say after 10 of the best years of my life this will be my last week at Blizzard, and in the games industry. I’m leaving to pursue my original passion, writing. It’s what I was doing when I fell into this job, and I’ve always wanted to return to it. I will dearly miss my friends at Blizzard. They’ve been the best, most dedicated, most passionate group of people I’ve ever met.”
Wilson was the lead designer of Blood II, and Impossible Creatures, then he was also the story writer and designer of Dawn of War at Relic Entertainment. He joined Blizzard in 2007, where he took up the game designer role of Diablo III until his resignation from this post in January 2013. He moved to a different Blizzard project back then. If you play World of Warcraft and find Ja’y Nosliw, the Skybreaker General – well, this is his character in the game!
Good luck to Jay Wilson in his old-new career!
