München Massacre: Video Games Are Responsible, Says The Minister! [VIDEO]

A German minister is blaming the video games for the unfortunate events in Münich.

Thomas De Maizière believes that the massacre in Münich is because of video games, he directly blamed everything on them. In the German magazine Spiegel’s online version, the following quote was mentioned in an article: „De Maizière makes violent videos on the Internet for acts such as the massacre in Munich responsible. The intolerable degree of violence-glorifying games have a detrimental effect on the development of young people, said the interior minister. This was also in this case like this.” The serial killer in Munich was playing Counter-Strike under the names „Amok” or „Hass” (the latter word means hatred).

However, there’s a slight issue with De Maizière‘s thought: in Germany, video games are already being released in a censored version with things, such as blood, being removed, making his claim pointless. However, he might end up pushing censorship a step further in Germany, making future games possibly even more censored…
