Say Goodbye To Three Free-To-Play Games

A few free-to-play titles are locking the door behind them – one of them shut down in a somewhat weird manner, though.

Halo Online‘s situation is a bit different. Yes, there was a Halo Online on PC – in Russia. Microsoft closed this game in late December while it was still in early access state. However, the developers posted something on VK, a Russian social website, and they blamed Microsoft’s management for the failure of Halo Online.

„Over the past six months, our colleagues from Microsoft failed to take decisions on the future of the project. Now we know only one thing – the current form of the game will not be released.” Unfortunately, the co-developers of Halo Online, Saber Interactive, did not take over the development. Refunds for microtransactions can be requested until August 30, but the game is now dead. The same can be said of El Dewrito, a fan-made mod that aims to be the Western Halo Online – it will not be allowed to be released officially.

Two other free-to-play games also leave us. They are both from Ubisoft; they are called The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot and Ghost Recon Phantoms. The latter, four-year-old game will have its in-game store work, but you can’t buy Ghost Coins, the currency anymore. The other title, which stepped out of closed beta in February 2015, even has its store closed already.

Ubisoft states that the games weren’t successful, and they want to focus on other projects, so both of them will get closed on October 25.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
