UPDATE – The Warcraft Game That Never Got Finished! [VIDEO]

UPDATE:  Activision deleted the original mirror.

ORIGINAL: We’re in 1998, far from the existence of World of WarcraftBlizzard throws an almost complete game away.

Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans was meant to be a cartoonish looking point-and-click adventure game, and Blizzard was almost complete with the development on it. Instead of going gold and into stores, the game got canceled. It popped up on a Russian site, though…

The Russian relationship is somewhat logical: Blizzard assigned Animation Magic for the animation work, and this company had a subsidiary in St. Petersburg. (A bit of trivia: Animation Magic was responsible for the infamous Philips CD-i games of The Legend of Zelda: The Faces of Evil, and The Wand of Gamelon…)

While we have to point out that the game in this form is illegal, we still believe that you should know about a piece of the forgotten history of Warcraft with a „what if?” scenario. If you’re interested in the game, click here.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
