In the launch week, the PlayStation VR took the throne – more virtual reality headsets were sold in Japan than what the PlayStation 4 could achieve.
In a week, 51 thousand sales is a good number in this country, and it was more than enough to take the top spot. The PlayStation 4 managed to reach „only” 30 thousand sales. This sales figure doesn’t say a lot, but at least it’s a promising start for the headset. Sony hasn’t published European or North American sales data yet, but their next financial report (out on November 1) should be including the PlayStation VR‘s performance.
We wouldn’t guess how much Sony’s headset is selling in two and a half weeks, but they expect to have the sales in hundreds of thousands going by pre-orders.
We’ll see shortly if they expected too much or not.
