How close is the PlayStation 4 remake trilogy to the originals that caught us off guard so easily two decades ago?
DigitalFoundry did the best they could: they put the three PlayStation 1 Crash Bandicoot platformers side by side with the N. Sane Trilogy iterations on the PlayStation 4.
Vicarious Visions tried to follow the Naughty Dog originals as much as possible (which is somewhat expected: previously they made Crash games on the GBA), but there are some changes, especially in the sound effects. No wonder why Sony calls these games more of remasters than remakes: the devs didn’t veer much off from the original ideas.
Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy will launch sometime in 2017, exclusively on the PlayStation 4. Get ready to break all the boxes! (Or poor Crash’s head and back will get them, as seen at the end of each level in the first game if you did not 100% them…)
