Lords of the Fallen‘s devs put their new game into the futuristic setting, but it seems to have kept its style, though.

Deck 13’s game received four minutes of gameplay, trying to make us consider this game as something new and not just as another Souls game clone. The early enemies in the video provide no threat, but the same cannot be said about the later ones: they will be ready to fight, and they won’t go down in one shot.

The Surge’s gameplay and animations are lifted over from Lords of the Fallen, which is likely to change: the game has a “2017” for its release date on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, which means it might launch later next year.

Enemies can be salvaged, and players can choose to go for the easy spot or to try to take them down by aiming for their armored parts to acquire „precious equipment that will make you stronger, faster, tougher.” The decision is yours.
