Xbox’s head of marketing might have gone one step too far with hyping the upcoming Microsoft console.
Aaron Greenberg is trying to garner attention for the Project Scorpio, which is a mid-generation upgrade for the Xbox One, which still has no release date, despite the PlayStation 4 Pro having been in stores for almost two months by this point.
„It is 2017, the year of Project Scorpio, are you ready for the beast!?” – Greenberg says. In response, he added that „people are ready.”
While Microsoft‘s marketing is somewhat understandable, we don’t know if their console can perform as well as rumored: 6 TFLOPS performance (the PlayStation 4 Pro can „count” to 4.2), native 4K gaming without any compromises… and if Microsoft can indeed pull these off, there’s still one lingering question: how much will the console cost?!
The price isn’t something you can ignore (Sony left the 4K Blu-ray drive out of the PS4 Pro for this reason!) – if the Scorpio is expensive, Microsoft‘s recent catching up tendencies to their rival might halt in no time…
