Obsidian Entertainment stopped teasing everyone; they revealed what their next game is going to be.
The team-based RPG, Pillars of Eternity is getting a sequel. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is in development for PC, Mac, and Linux. Similarly to the first game, the sequel will also rely on crowdfunding. However, instead of Kickstarter (where the first game is still the fourth most backed of all time), Pillars of Eternity II aims for Tim Schafer’s Fig. You can see the page here. As the game already got over 950 thousand dollars from the 1.1 million target with 28.5 days remaining, it’s impossible to fail at this point…
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire will take players back to Eora, to explore the uncharted Deadfire Archipelago. Here, they will „fight for their souls” as they hunt down the god Eothas. The god of light and rebirth was thought dead, but instead inhabits a stone titan who has been buried under your keep, Caed Nua, for a millennia.
If you played the first game, you could continue the plot here, so your decisions made in Dyrwood as the Watcher of Caed Nua will affect Deadfire as well, as it is promised to be a „living world”…
