With Kartos Karting, you can switch up the genre a little bit.
Playtonic, formed of ex-Rare members, will not lock Yooka-Laylee into a simple platformer genre, because of Kartos Karting, which is a four player local multiplayer affair, shows off how the game can turn into a racing title, giving more hope to one of the promising titles in the Spring.
Pre-ordering will give you Toybox, which is a spoiler-free sandbox, and it allows you to learn the mechanics of Yooka-Laylee, preparing you for the full adventure. The developers are currently trying to figure out how to provide it on consoles to the appropriate backers.
Banjo-Kazooie’s spiritual successor will arrive on April 11 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s also announced to drop the Wii U version for the Nintendo Switch – this port will arrive at a later, unannounced date.
