Don’t think about large scale cheating, though; it’s just an in-game opportunity.
Previously, we called NieR: Automata gallivant, and now we could also call it a trophy hunter. It turns out that you can BUY trophies in the game. No, the ending achievements can’t be purchased, but still, it seems that Yoko Taro shows his refusing mentality when it comes to trophies with this addition in the gameplay.
The Japanese/Asian players (as well as those who were impatient and ended up importing a copy of the game) also found something that they didn’t like: namely, a trash item called NIN64. Yes, trash: in the game, you can do some fishing to grab some rare items. However, if you are unlucky, you will only end up receiving trash.
According to the game’s producer, Yosuke Saito, Square Enix is already planning to „change the name of an item we’ve all pointed out.” Even though it can be considered as a harmless Easter Egg, as the game plays ten thousand years in the future.
NieR: Automata is out on March 7 on PlayStation 4 and maybe on March 10 on PC.
