Final Fantasy VII Remake: Changes In The Combat System

Final Fantasy VII‘s reimagined version will bring in several changes on top of the episodic approach.

Tetsuya Nomura, the game’s producer said in the latest Famitsu interview (http://blog.esuteru.com/archives/20010348.html) that Final Fantasy VII Remake’s combat system will not be command-based but action based. If you liked Final Fantasy XV’s combat, you would feel comfortable in VII Remake as well. There will also be a cover system, which will be optional to use.

He also brought up the first boss fight against the Guard Scorpion – and for a good reason: they are quite far from completing the game’s development. Nomura said that there would be environmental destruction during this fight, plus the scorpion will also use never-seen-before attacks that you couldn’t have seen in the original two decades ago on the PS1.

Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s first episode has an unknown release date, but it is coming to the PlayStation 4.
