This year, we will get a not-so-serious basketball title as well.
NBA Playgrounds is developed by Saber Interactive, who are currently being involved in Quake Champions, and previously, they made TimeShift, Inversion, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, to name a few. Similarly to NBA Street and NBA Jam titles, Playgrounds is officially licensed by NBA, hoping that the sport, which is quite popular in North America, could get more ground elsewhere.
„The game features players both active and retired, with Allen Iverson facing off against modern ballers Steph Curry and George Hill in the opening of the trailer. Every NBA team is featured in NBA Playgrounds, and the “roster of current and retired” players can be leveled-up. Keeping inline with its arcade-style roots, Playgrounds features “hundreds of over-the-top dunks and moves,” the announcement says.
The game will be available for twenty bucks from May on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and… Nintendo Switch!
