An inclusion of this service might be turning off some players.
Bioware‘s new game, codenamed Dylan, is probably going to get a detailed reveal at this year’s EA Play event, and it is planned to launch in April 2018 at the earliest (and if we’re unlucky, in March 2019 at the latest…). Tweaktown says that this game is going to have a „live service.” A turn towards Electronic Arts’ financial call – a quote is following: „This game is built around a live service, and through our creative process we have decided to add more to the disruptive new social designs for our players. To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into FY19.”
Live service. In other words, it could mean microtransactions for Dylan, which was announced in 2014 (see the teaser below). The online-based, probably action-themed game might make you spend more on top of the game’s price when it arrives.
That’s not a good sign.
