Rockstar didn’t even give the Western adventures a concrete release date yet, and they already pushed it back by a significant amount of time…
So far, Take-Two planned to release Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Fall 2017, but according to the developers’ official statement, they pushed it back. The delay is not a few weeks. Instead, it’s about half a year: the new release window is now Spring 2018. That delay means that unless the game is out by the end of March, it will be available to the public in the next business year. (The delay made Take-Two’s stock value drop by nine percent, though!)
This is going to be the first Rockstar game that is made for the current consoles from the ground up. Remember, Grand Theft Auto V was originally developed for the PS3 and X360 with a September 2013 release date. Let’s hear the devs’ reasoning for the delay: „some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.”
Who knows, maybe the game will end up launching on PC, and they might be using the delay for the porting. Have the new screenshots, though:
