Just a few months before its Pro League start, it doesn’t look like there’s a lot of interest around H1Z1.
GitHyp reports that H1Z1 reached its peak in July – back then, it had 150 thousand concurrent players, which usually meant it was the third most played game on Steam behind Dota 2 and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. However, since then, it just did a freefall, because, since July, its player base shrunk by no less than 91 percent…
Now, H1Z1 has roughly nine thousand concurrent players, which means it has become a forgotten game in the battle royale genre, mostly due to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (also available on Xbox One), and the free-to-play Fortnite: Battle Royale (out on both X1 and PlayStation 4).
The players on Reddit and Steam blame the developers, Daybreak Games, for the lack of support, as the game is now about to go into its second year of Early Access. It also doesn’t put a lot of hope into the launch of Pro League – the promise that said that the pro H1Z1 players would receive a comparable salary to Overwatch League pros sounds like a joke at this point.
H1Z1 looks close to death at this point…
