Housemarque (Resogun, Nex Machina, to name a few…) revealed a few canned ideas, too.
The Finnish team announced Stormdivers at Reboot Develop, and they described it as „a high flying and heavy hitting multiplayer-centric experience,” which will utilize a combination of their custom VFX Engine, as well as Unreal Engine 4. The server infrastructure will be handled by Amazon’s Game Tech.
We could stop right here, but Housemarque told Eurogamer that the concept was done three years ago. „You can compare it to a lot of the multiplayer experiences you have now,” apparently. When Eurogamer asked if it’s going to be similar to Fortnite, the response was a „That’s a very good assumption.” Hm…
They also showed a few abandoned game concepts. The first one is Darkweb (PS2, X), a story-orientated TPS with a female protagonist. The second one, Fist (PSP), would have been a military shooter with a bit of humor, and the last one, The Trader, was inspired by Tomb Raider, and it would have been a third-person action-adventure title.
Too bad that none of these concepts will be games anymore…
