Commodore 64 is minifying and it’s coming to the US – with a bit of a delay…
The Commodore 64 was one of the iconic platforms for gaming in the 1980s aside from the crash of the industry, followed by the rise of the gaming consoles. It became a household name for a long time, but over time, the Amiga, as well as the NES/Master System/SNES/Genesis/etc. overshadowed it.
The Commodore 64 mini allows us to use CRT filters, save the game anywhere (and add custom games, too! 64 games by default), and with an HDMI connection, we can use it on our modern TVs also in 720p, at 60 frames per second. The package will contain a USB controller, an HDMI cable, a USB cable, and a manual, but not an AC adapter. Also, you will need a USB keyboard if you want to type some text…
Unfortunately, we don’t know the American pricing yet, but in Europe, the console launched a few months ago for roughly 60 euros. Perhaps the pricing across the pond will be similar…
