Despite CD Projekt RED‘s next major game not having a release window yet, Cyberpunk 2077 is already playable from start to finish – the basics thus should be mostly in place…
Richard Borzymowski, the game’s producer, told Engadget in his interview that Cyberpunk 2077 can be played through, but it doesn’t mean that the game is complete – it still lacks assets (such as textures, audio, or even characters probably), there was no bug fixing or testing done yet, and thus, the Polish developer team has a lot of work to do. At least the story is complete, so they don’t have to worry about that.
„The punk part in cyberpunk stands not only for rock and roll and sex and drugs and whatever. It also stands as a fight against the system. We want always to keep it personal. We don’t want to tell a story about rescuing the world. We don’t want to destroy the system basically. … It’s not just another part in this cyberpunk-industry cliche machine,” Borzymowski said.
So, CD Projekt RED tries to go against the rules, and that’s a fitting role for them. However, we have to wait a while until we can experience their game, as Cyberpunk 2077 has no release date or target platforms yet confirmed at the moment.
