It’s nowhere near 3840×2160! The developer shed the light on the secrets behind the scenes of the game design.
Aside from this, we’ve also received a clip for the DLC suit and a video about composing the music of the title, while the developers shared some details about the technical side of the game.
The much anticipated Spider-Man just released today and critics so far seem to love it. To celebrate the release of the game, Insomniac Games released an extended launch trailer for the game and in the form of a live stream, they’ve also shown a lot of other things as well.
For example, they revealed the DLC suit that was designed by the famous artist, Gabriele Dell’Otto and the music of the game – that was composed by John Pasenao – got a separate video as well.
Insomniac Games also shared some interesting technical information regarding the game on PlayStation Blog. The game is running at either 2816×1584 or at 2560×1440. It’s nowhere near 3840×2160, which is native 4K, but they used the well-known temporal injection solution to upscale the game to 4K.
There is HDR support in the game too and it looks the best at night while raining because the contrast can be very strong this way between the city lights and the darkness.
We’ve also learned that the explorable world – New York – is split into 800 square areas and each square is 128 square metres. These are loaded in and out depending on the scene and approximately one new square gets loaded in per second.
