DICE Confirms Making Large Maps For Battlefield V

During the open beta of Battlefield V, there were voices about how the maps of the World War II shooter weren’t large.

For example, this Reddit topic says that despite the scale of the war, the levels didn’t feel that big. DICE has responded on Twitter by revealing a map that will be roughly 1.5km big between its two „ends.”
The map called Hamada will have 1.5-kilometer distance from the attackers’ headquarters to the final point of the defenders, and while the map is work-in-progress, Valerian Noghin, Battlefield V’s lead multiplayer designer, thought that he should relax the tension by this reveal.

Jeff Gagné, another level designer, responded by saying that we shouldn’t judge the game too early as they haven’t revealed everything yet and that Battlefield V hasn’t launched yet either. The World War II FPS will change a bit by the time it releases: the distance haze and the lighting will be adjusted to make our enemies more visible than before, and the automatic weapons get overhauled to make the time to kill as fair and fun as possible. Battlefield V is out on November 20 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
