MOVIE NEWS – Blumhouse‘s film got through a superb first weekend.
Halloween‘s top launch weekend was with Rob Zombie in 2007 in the United States (26 million dollars), but the 2018 movie got way further than that with its 77.5 million dollars. It also reached the second place in the all-time chart for R-rated film launches – only Stephen King’s 2017 It (Part 1) had a better launch weekend than Halloween, which got another second place in the October film launches all time; only Venom, a recently launched film, managed to get a better start. (And that movie is still being watched a ton in cinemas: it got the third place last week.)
Including the overseas revenue, Halloween got an additional 14.3 million dollars, reaching 91.8 million dollars during its first weekend, which is already a significant success if we consider Blumhouse‘s budget. They only spent ten million dollars, which means the movie is already profitable.
