Could The Waylanders Become „The Indie Dragon Age?” [VIDEO]

As BioWare is now working on Anthem, it’s unlikely the team could move to Dragon Age any time soon – The Waylanders is trying to fill out the existing gap.

The game tries to achieve 150 thousand dollars on Kickstarter, and it already got a third (52910 dollars) of it with twenty-three days remaining. Why is it worth checking the game out? Well, The Waylanders has our characters travel through time between the Celtic and the Middle Ages, with reincarnation also thrown into the mix.

We can control our characters separately, and each character’s skill will be on hotkeys (so it’s like Diablo?), and we can also call them to one of twelve possible formations. With an orb formation, we’ll create an impenetrable aura, and with an arrowhead, we’ll go offensive on the enemies.

The twist here is that the Spanish dev team, Gato Salvaje, is helped by a former creative director of Dragon Age, someone called Marc Laidlaw… and if the game gets 200 thousand dollars as one of the stretch goals, Grace Buck, a former narrative designer at Telltale Games, will also join the team.

An action-RPG, but from a pre-Mass Effect era. 2005-2006 are returning…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
