The mods never cease to amaze us – this time, Half-Life got an extreme mod…
Half-Life: Year of the Dragon has replaced Gordon Freeman with Spyro. That’s not all: Spyro talks and breaths fire if necessary, which means it’s not just a single character swap. Magic_Nipples has lifted the purple dragon over to the GoldSrc and Xash3D engine, and while there might be no complete Half-Life remake to support Spyro’s moveset, the mod has still entered early phase access.
You can get the mod at ModDB, and while it’s far from a well-developed mod (some controllers aren’t supported), but in case you have the original Half-Life (which is unlikely to get either a third game, or Half-Life 2 getting its third episode…), then give it a shot.
Let’s hope Valve doesn’t step in to stop the whole thing – the other day, a Team Fortress 2 mod that tried to bring back the 2008 style was pulled from Steam…
