The Game Awards 2018 is done, and the list of winners are announced – today’s news will be mainly about this event.
Multiple awards were handed out, and surprisingly, we found that Spider-Man didn’t get any, while another PlayStation 4-exclusive, namely God of War, gained several. Let’s take a look at the list (brackets have the developer/publisher):

- Games for Impact (thought-provoking game with a profound pro-social meaning or message): Celeste (Matt Makes Games)
- Best indie game: Celeste (Matt Makes Games)
- Best mobile game: Florence (Mountains)
- Best VR/AR game: Astro Bot: Rescue Mission (SIE Japan Studio / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
- Best action game: Dead Cells (Motion Twin)
- Best action/adventure game: God of War (SIE Santa Monica Studio / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
- Best RPG: Monster Hunter: World (Capcom)
- Best fighting game: Dragon Ball FighterZ (Arc System Works / Bandai Namco Entertainment)

Most games are Western-developed, which means we can go as far and say that 2018 was the year of the games developed outside Japan. God of War won multiple awards along with Red Dead Redemption 2. Congratulations to the winners!
