Leon S. Kennedy’s Story Will Be Modified In Resident Evil 2 Remake!

Capcom has changed the original story… is it a good idea?

The Japanese company wrote in a tweet that Leon’s background story was modified. Until now, the rookie policeman was about to start his job at Raccoon City’s Police Department, and on his way to the city, he met Claire Redfield, but an accident separates them for a while. However, the Resident Evil 2 Remake background story for him will be that he’s at home when the zombie outbreak happens, and he’ll get to the city a few days after it. (The Japanese origins story for him involved breaking up with his girlfriend, getting drunk, and then being late from his first day at work.)

As the tweet is Japanese, the country’s fans went and took photos of the official guidebook for the game, showing Capcom that the origins story for Leon was way different before. We don’t know why Leon’s events were changed – perhaps they try to avoid controversial subjects.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is out on January 25 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
