We might see a significant announcement from Microsoft this year.
Their blog has a short forecast for 2019 – aside from games (Crackdown 3, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Gears 5, Minecraft: Dungeons, as well as a big Sea of Thieves expansion), they hinted at other things, too. „2019 is shaping up nicely for Xbox, PC and mobile gamers alike, and we can’t wait to show you what all the Microsoft Studios development teams are working on. We’re focused on implementing new Microsoft technologies, delivering content for new platforms and services like Xbox Game Pass, and creating exclusive games that turn players into loyal Xbox fans. We are committed to expanding the Microsoft Studios franchises players already love and investing in new, exclusive content for every type of gamer. We’re excited to see the teams maximize their potential at Microsoft and can’t wait for what the future has in store.”
A Halo TV-show, a Gears of War movie, and the xCloud game streaming – we think the post relates to xCloud, as the mobile platform was mentioned. The beta test of xCloud might happen this year, and under „new technologies,” Microsoft might have meant the announcement of the next-gen console(s?), which could happen at E3 this year…
