Hideo Kojima‘s game is getting multiple hints of releasing this year.
On Reddit, a photo surfaced that was taken at one of the Canadian stores of Best Buy. Across the pond, it’s common to have pre-order cards for major games, and Death Stranding got one, too. However, the retailer believes the game is going to be „Available [in] 2019,” which means Kojima Production‘s game should be playable by the end of this year! Best Buy Canada’s website has a December 31, 2019 date, but that’s a placeholder – a common technique for games with no exact launch day confirmed yet.
Previously, we also discussed that Troy Baker, who will be the voice of one of the characters of Death Stranding, used Kojima’s game in the #2009vs2019 hashtag, and previously, we remember something about Kojima saying the game would be available either in the year when the 1988 film Akira was set in, or by the start of the Japanese Olympic event by the latest. Akira is set in 2019. Japan will be involved in the Olympics in 2020. (There’s a topic discussing it on Reddit.)
Death Stranding is in development for PlayStation 4.
