The PlayStation 4-exclusive psychological horror game had to be slightly modified by RedG Studios as S.O.N. heads to completion. Thankfully, we learned what had to be cut.
The developers’ Twitter account started talking a lot about what had to be cut from S.O.N. „OK. Here is what did not make the final cut for S.O.N: First, Mr Vamp. The Vampires shown in the very first trailer caused game failures and crashes on the engine too much to be apart of the game. So to replace him we have introduced Carrie.” (It’s weird how they used plural for vampires, only to use singular again at the end of the tweet.)
OK.

„The forest is no longer in the daytime but instead in the night time. This was a struggle for us. Due to hardware limitations and time restraints the daytime forest was replaced with a dark, much more intense forest. Same layout though.”

„In the final trailer, you noticed the player walking around outside in what seemed to be an area with 4 statues and the words you’re going to die” are said. We have cut that and replaced it with more places to understand the story. See one of them in this new screenshot below.”

„As for this guy. You may have spotted him a few times throughout the trailers. He is is still apart of the game, IN FACT, he has friends. Because why not?”

To recap, they seemingly swapped a (boss?) character, change the time of day in the forest (as the PlayStation 4 wasn’t able to run the game properly in daytime…?), one area was entirely cut, and one enemy type seems to be more common than before. Still, we can’t judge S.O.N., which was set to initially release in 2018, by these changes. (Nice grammar in the third tweet… „your going to die,” really…?)
We don’t know when the PlayStation 4-exclusive will exactly launch, but going by these tweets, it might surface on the PlayStation Store by March or so.
