The Polish dev team that created Painkiller and Bulletstorm, as well as helping Gears of War’s and Fortnite’s development for Epic (who acquired them at one point before!), states that about their game that was announced in June 2017.
1.5 years ago, they announced that they are working on an AAA shooter (based on a new IP!) for Square Enix. Since then, we haven’t heard of this project, but we did see People Can Fly expand with a new studio in Newcastle in the United Kingdom, and Rzeszów in Poland. Now, Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, told DualShockers the following:
„Since People Can Fly became an independent studio again, our ambition has been to build a team of talented and experienced developers that can develop the best AAA games. We’ve to open a new studio in Newcastle, UK, to attract the best talent locally and within the UK. We want this team to grow to 20 to 30 developers within the next 12-18 months. When [Ghost Warrior creators] CI Games decided to restructure its operations, we immediately decided to open a new studio in Rzeszów to allow those great developers to keep on working together as a team, and to contribute to the game we’re working on.”
People Can Fly became independent in 2015, and they now employ around 150 people across their three studios. We haven’t seen a new game from them yet, but now we learned that they are doing a shooter for Square Enix based on a brand new IP. Indeed, the Japanese publisher doesn’t have such a game in their line-up at the moment. When will we see it in action?
