Will 343 Industries and Microsoft pull a move by making the Halo: Master Chief Collection complete outside Halo: Infinite, which is the next game in the series?
On Reddit, 343 Industries, the current Halo-dev after Bungie, held an Ask Me Anything-session, led by their community manager, asking the fan questions. They were mainly about Halo: Reach, which was announced to be the new addition to the Master Chief Collection (and it will also be the first game on the PC version as well). There was also a logical question: what about Halo 5, though?
Let’s see the answer: „Our focus is bringing [Halo:] Master Chief Collection and [Halo:] Reach to PC, there are no current plans to bring over Halo 5.” While the answer has shot down any possibility, take note of the word current. There might be no plans now to add Halo 5 to the Master Chief Collection, but later, 343 Industries and Microsoft might do it.
So Halo: Master Chief Collection is slowly, over time, will show up game by game, starting with Halo: Reach, on PC. And Epic Games Store will NOT make it an exclusive game, as Microsoft didn’t allow it with The Outer Worlds either – that game is developed by Obsidian, part of the Xbox Game Studios…
