MOVIE NEWS – The Witcher, which is being made for Netflix, isn’t going to have only Polish locations, but Hungarian ones as well!
So far, we only knew that The Witcher, which will feature Henry Cavill as Geralt and has no release date yet (possible 2019 launch), will have some Polish recording locations (making it local for them!). Well, we can carve at least one more place up to the list – on Reddit, there’s a video that doesn’t really reveal much, but it can be recognised at least. We quickly moved it over to Streamable.
The Redditors started looking into this video, and on Twitter, they have published their result – the new location that is going to be seen in The Witcher is none other than the Vajdahunyad castle in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, in the 14th district! Not bad! No matter how the creators of the series try to be silent about the series, they can’t deny this anymore.
We can be proud of it, and it’s possible that CD Projekt RED wanted to have Hungarian locations for the series – the Polish-Hungarian relations have always been good. (Also, The Witcher games always came out with Hungarian subtitles!)
The Witcher has no release date yet, but the shooting is going to end in a few months. 2019 or 2020 could both be possible launch windows for the series.

We have a clip from yesterday’s filming at Vajdahunyad Castle. While interesting it is very short and can’t really capture the full glory of the castle. Have a look at these pictures for a glimpse into the world of The Witcher. ?? #TheWitcher #Witcher https://t.co/4Doqk7QtxP pic.twitter.com/fR9a1MjGeL
