Mortal Kombat 11: Cetrion Revealed! [VIDEO]

NetherRealm Studios‘ next game is going to have an Elder God (goddess to be exact…) with elemental attacks.

GameInformer‘s May issue’s cover story is going to be Mortal Kombat 11, which means we can prepare to learn new details about the fighting game before it hits the physical and digital shelves. That’s how we learned about Cetrion, whose name was previously seen on the leaked roster – the name hides a goddess with links to the Earth, using elemental attacks to get rid of her enemies. Fire, water, rocks, roots, you name it – Cetrion’s fighting style is going to be unusual…

We’d like to point out one comment from the second video below: „Her fatality is just a supermove from Injustice 2.” We’d also like to add that Cetrion doesn’t seem to be a well-animated character at the moment, and since Mortal Kombat 11’s launch is less than three weeks away, it’s likely that there will be issues… so we could say that „Mother Nature” (are we the only ones who think that…?) will likely have a questionable quality in movements. (Also, she seems to have some resemblances to Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn, which is all but confirmed to get a sequel…).

We also learned that in eSports settings/tournaments, as well as in ranked mode, the unexpected/unpredictable factor is going to be out of the picture. That was brought into the game by NetherRealm by the character customization. Instead, you’ll likely have to predetermined character iterations to use, but visual customization, as well as those that do not affect the gameplay (such as the XP boost), will still be allowed.

In the Towers of Time game mode, we can switch between the two characters with the right stick, allowing quick combos. We might also see our unused character providing supporting attacks during boss fights, for example. There will also be cooperative competitive leaderboards – those who perform well can get weekly bonus equipment and other items.

Warner will publish Mortal Kombat 11 on April 23 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
