Burke’s name might not be immediately familiar, but she has worked together several times with Hideo Kojima. What’s going on?
Donna Burke worked on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain as a singer. She also sang The Best Is Yet To Come from the first Metal Gear Solid game for a special CD. So, the Australian singer does have ties to the Metal Gear franchise, that’s for sure. (She also worked on Silent Hill and Final Fantasy.)
Burke posted the following video on Twitter. It was recorded in a studio.
Secret project hype?!! Kept you waiting huh?!?? #forfans #comingsoon pic.twitter.com/pzx2cKJiWk

It’s a secret project made for the fans, and in the tweet’s text, we also see Big Boss’ classic line, „kept you waiting” as well. What could it mean? Two possibilities stand: one of them could be the previously rumoured remaster of the first game, which could be handled by the talented Bluepoint Games. (Just a few examples: PS3 – God of War Collection, The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, PlayStation 4 – Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Gravity Rush Remastered, Shadow of the Colossus…)
The other possibility is that Mondo, a company that makes vinyl and other goodies for games, is making something for Hideo Kojima this year, and we could guess that the first Metal Gear Solid’s soundtrack could get a remixed edition with new singers, and this is where Donna Burke steps in.
Let’s hope Konami won’t cross our guesses. We don’t think people would appreciate a Metal Gear Survive 2 (let’s face it, the first one had not much sense, and we kindly put it…), but, as an even worse option, Konami might be making a stupid pachinko game (they have pulled it off before, remember?), which would be exclusive to Japan, as pachinkos did not spread far. Seeing Konami, it could happen…
