The American wrestling game, WWE 2K20 is so bad on the PlayStation 4 (not just there…) that Sony isn’t risking angry players. Instead, they refund the money they spent on acquiring the game.
2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity was quite a buggy title on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and this year’s WWE game, 2K20, has hit its level (or stooped this low?), with many videos and photos showing how buggy it is. We’ll embed our favourite video (make sure to watch the entire thing – it gets pretty ridiculous by the end), and while we know it was recorded from the Xbox One version, if the game is buggy, it is buggy regardless…
On Twitter, the #FixWWE2K20 hashtag is spreading to get the attention of Take-Two to fix the issues the customers are talking about. There’s another issue: the collector’s edition of the game was missing items. The publisher didn’t respond properly – the 2K Support Twitter account nonchalantly wrote the following: „We’re receiving more tickets than normal. Rest assured: We’re doing everything we can to get to your case. Thanks for your patience!” But what is the reason by the bug overload in this game? There’s somewhat of an explanation for it.
In August, the developer of the WWE 2K series, Yuke’s, a Japanese studio (who have been making WWE titles for TWO DECADES!) has left the franchise, meaning the wrapping up of the development had to be done by their support studio, Visual Concepts, a Californian team that is working on the NBA 2K series (whose latest title, 2K20, got infamous for the gambling MyTeam trailer in the summer). There’s no official reasoning behind Yuke’s departure. In May, Hiromi Furuta, Yuke’s senior vice president and producer, said they will set up a second studio to work on a new wrestling project, and this should reinvigorate the internal competition.
And fair play to Sony for offering refunds: they could have shrugged and done nothing at all.
