We were on the right path when we suspected the reason why the first Nioh game was included in the November PlayStation Plus line-up. We can try the sequel shortly, too.
Recently, The Last of Us Remastered was part of the PlayStation Plus titles, and now, it’s going to be Nioh’s turn, as we discussed yesterday, and for a good reason. On the PlayStation Blog, it was confirmed that Team Ninja’s game will launch on the PlayStation 4 on March 13, and seeing how Koei Tecmo released the first game on PC, we can expect the sequel to also take a turn towards PC players at a later date.
„With that being said, we would also like to give you guys a sneak peek at the game by releasing an open beta demo for you to try out. This open beta trial will be available from 1st – 10th November and is downloadable from PlayStation Store. All players will be able to experience new elements such as our extensive character customisation feature, our newest weapon- the Switchglaive, and so much more,” the blog says.
In the beta, there will be two new environments called Interim (where you can safely test your builds) and Sunomata. Let’s see what else did Team Ninja say: „As you move on from the Interim, you will start your journey in a stage called Sunomata. This stage is based on the Sunomata castle which by some accounts was constructed in just one night by Hideyoshi. The experience will be an interpretation of historical actualities combined with a healthy injection of Yokai adventure!
Also, this new stage will treat you to an impressive environment covered in autumn maple leaves. In a similar fashion to the cherry blossoms stage (The Village of Cursed Blossoms), we had the great fortune of highlighting another stunning time of year within Japan’s four distinct seasons,” the post says.
Completing the beta will get you the Kamaitachi helmet. The Deluxe edition of the game will have a steelbook, an art book, and a season pass. The Digital Deluxe version will get you the season pass, the Demon Horde weapons, and the Kodama Netsuke charm. You get the latter two by pre-ordering the game, and you’ll also get a PlayStation 4 theme and avatars along with them, too.
Nioh 2 is out on March 13, and the open beta launches tomorrow. William, the protagonist of the first game, will return in the sequel (and its beta), too.
