Darksiders Genesis: The First 16 Minutes And System Requirements [VIDEO]

We learned what PC will be needed to run the Airship Syndicate-developed Darksiders spin-off, Darksiders Genesis with decent frame rate and performance.

Let’s start with the system requirements – this time, we have both the minimum and recommended system requirements, and even if they say they are preliminary, the game’s launch date is close, so we can think of them as final.

Minimum system requirements:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7, 8, Windows 10 (64 bit) (no 8.1?)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8320 (3.5 GHz) / Intel Core i5-4690K (3.5 GHz) or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (no AMD equivalent was mentioned)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 15 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: Preliminary System requirements

Recommended system requirements:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7, 8, Windows 10 (64 bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3930K (3.2 GHz) / AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (3.2 GHz) or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (no AMD equivalent again)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 15 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: Preliminary System requirements

So Darksiders Genesis seems to have fair system requirements. The game can be played cooperatively, so one player can control Strife, while another player can take over War. The two Horsemen of Apocalypse show some platformer segments between combat in the video below, plus the chest opening feels a bit like The Legend of Zelda from the 1990s.

It shows the solo mode, though, meaning you can switch between Strife and War. War has swords, while Strife attacks with guns, meaning the former is more of an offensive character, the latter is a defensive one, as you can fire from a distance.

Darksiders Genesis is out on PC and Google Stadia on December 5. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch ports will follow on February 14.
