Final Fantasy VII Remake: Red XIII Is Playable With A Little Trick [VIDEO]

Technically, we can’t control Red XIII in Square Enix‘ game, but with a little trick, it is indeed possible to make it happen.

„We felt the point at which Red XIII joins the party in the story is very late on so we thought okay, if we’re gonna have him as a full character and try and get the player to enjoy his character development arc and growth as a character through that, it’s not enough time to do that. We thought that the best way to have him involved was as a guest character. Normally throughout the game, you’ll be playing as a three-man party, but you will have him as a guest character that fights alongside you during the last part of the story. He’ll be using all of his old nostalgic moves, and you’ll see that. We felt that was the best way of showing him off as a character and who he is. That’s why we felt that was the best way to include him,” Naoki Hamaguchi, the co-director of Final Fantasy VII Remake, has previously used this explanation when we learned that Red XIII is in the game but not really.

Now, Xeeynamo has created a save editor. With it, you can manage your inventory and materia in Final Fantasy VII Remake, and you can also change your characters’ levels, plus even make Red XIII a playable character! Here’s evidence of this neat little change below.

Let’s hope that Square Enix won’t pull a cease-and-desist move for this save editor. Final Fantasy VII Remake quickly sold millions of copies, even with the game-breaking the street date with its physical copies in Europe and Australia.

The game is a timed PlayStation 4-exclusive for a year, but since we have seen signs of a PC version in a trailer, a port will likely happen, and the Xbox One will likely also receive the game.
