First images of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum on PC, Xbox Series X and PS5

It will be an action and stealth adventure starring Sméagol, who will travel throughout Middle-earth.

Daedalic Entertainment has released the first images of its long-awaited The Lord of the Rings: Gollum for PC and new generation consoles, an action and stealth adventure starring a Sméagol who will begin his peculiar odyssey imprisoned in the dark tower of Barad-dûr. The images arrive as part of a special published by the German magazine GameStar.

To highlight the cartoon style for which the video game has opted, without losing the dark tone that is supposed to an adventure of these characteristics in which we have to fight against the forces of Sauron using the shadows to avoid detection. Also striking is that image in which Gollum is shown having a conversation with himself, debating with that internal voice that torments him.

There are still many details to be discovered, such as the stealth and infiltration options that we can use, or the variety of scenarios that we will explore, as these first images focus their attention almost exclusively on the fortress of Barad-dûr … except for that almost fairytale setting, which invites you to think that there will be many other different environments.

The Gollum video game is being developed with the Unreal Engine 4 and its release is planned for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021, so there is still plenty for us to enjoy this adventure. We remind you that despite the financial problems of Daedalic, its managers assure that the development of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is not in danger.
