Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla: Strong Soundtrack, Not-So-Strong Frame Rate? [VIDEO]

The new console might not bring some powerful frame rate.

The Xbox website’s listing mentions that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is going to run on 4K, at 30 frames per second. We’re talking about a next-gen launch title. Eurogamer Portugal didn’t believe it, so they contacted Ubisoft, who replied with a PR response: „Ubisoft has always been committed to exploring new technologies, taking advantage of the capabilities of new consoles to deliver the most immersive experience possible, which is why we are excited to be collaborating with Microsoft to bring Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to the Xbox Series X.

Currently, we can guarantee that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at least 30 FPS. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will benefit from faster loading times, allowing players to immerse themselves in history and the world without friction. Finally, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will benefit from improved graphics made possible by the Xbox Series X, and we can’t wait to see the beautiful world we’re creating in stunning 4K resolution. We will have a lot more to show you about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the near future, so stay tuned for more information soon.” By soon, they meant July 12, as Ubisoft Forward, their E3 replacement program, will happen that day.

The German Ubisoft Store has some details about the game’s Season Pass. It will contain an exclusive story mission called The Legend of Beowulf. The description also mentions that new equipment and lands will be added to the game via the Season Pass, so we might see the game’s map getting expanded. (Perhaps in Norway?)

In Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, we will hear music from several composers. Jesper Kyd and Sarah Schachner have previously been involved with the franchise, but they will be joined by Einar Selvik (which was also confirmed by the German Ubisoft Store). This is a massive surprise: the Norwegian (how fitting!) composer has been working on History’s Vikings series! With him, Ubisoft could indeed bring that Norse touch to the soundtrack. Let’s listen to a song by him.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will launch this Holiday season on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC (Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
